I opened the Sitrad and there was no device on the screen. What can I do?

Click the “ON” button to start the communication.

Sitrad searched the stations and could not find them.

Check the Sitrad configuration for the right communication type (Serial or USB).

I changed the configurations and the Sitrad is prompting for an access code, which code is this?

The code is 123. This is a SitradLocal fixed code.

I have many devices installed, but Sitrad recognizes only device number 1. Where is the problem?

Devices have in their last function their address configuration for an RS-485 network. When there is more than 1 device in the network it is necessary to change the device address by giving it a unique address, which must be different from any other device address in the same network.

I have changed the device’s addresses but the Sitrad cannot find them when searching. A message appears reporting that no registered devices were found.

Check the communication cables between interface and devices for A/B cables inverted, short-circuited or bad connected.

Sitrad is prompting for an access code to finish the program, which code is this?

The code is 123. This is a SitradLocal fixed code.

The Sitrad stopped working, where is the problem?

Check if the Sitrad was opened twice. There must be only one Sitrad icon beside the Windows clock.

When I try to plot a chart from previous days or months, a message appears informing that there was no data to create the chart.

In this case you must add the database related to the search period, because the Report Generator loads only the last 3 databases besides the current one. If the searched period exceeds the data contained in the current database, the system will not have the necessary data to create the chart.

When the Local module tries to send an alarm to an e-mail address a “sending error” message appears. Where is the problem?

First of all, it is necessary to check if the computer where the Local module is installed has an active connection to the Web. Then, check the SMTP email server configuration (server and sender data). Usually the SMTP server configuration is the same used to configure the Outlook.

How do I know which is the SMTP server of my e-mail?

Each server has a different SMTP address. Check your e-mail provider Web site to see the POP3 and SMTP access configuration.

How do I know where the Local module and the Remote module will be installed?

The Local module is installed in the computer where the serial interface is connected. The Remote module is installed in the other computers that will communicate with this computer. The Local module computer operates like a server that must be ON all the time.

I formatted my computer and the Sitrad installation CD has been lost. How can I reinstall the software without the CD?

Please access www.sitrad.com to download the program. If you need to install the USB driver, the download is available at www.sitrad.com.br/SITRAD/Drivers.zip.

Does Sitrad run in Linux?

No. Only in Windows.

What is the purpose of the small box that comes with the “plus” line devices?

This is the Switch Box. It is used to interconnect the data network equipment and to protect the network against noise. The cables must be properly connected in the box grounding connectors.

Is there in the market any other device besides this box to protect my RS-485 network?

There are companies who specialize in manufacturing protection equipment for RS-485 network, and there are also technical standards related to this matter.
