Installing from the CD-ROM

Insert the SITRAD Installation CD-ROM in the CD-ROM player of your PC and the Sitrad Installer application runs automatically.

If the Installer does not open automatically click Start, Run, and type “D:\autorun.exe” where “D:” is the letter of your CD-ROM player.

Installing from a downloaded file

1 – Download the installation software from the SITRAD web site: www.sitrad.com

2 – Run the software file and follow the instructions on the installation screen.

Installing the Serial or USB Interface

The Conv32 and Conv256 communication interface must be installed according to the following instructions:

esquema-LOCAL

1 – To use the serial communication, connect one end of the DB9 cable to the PC communication port (COM1, COM2 etc.) and the other end to the interface RS232 input. To use the USB communication, connect the flattened end of the USB cable to a PC’s USB port and the other end must be connected to an USB interface port.

2 – Connect the data network cable to one of the RS-485 lines in the interface converter and identify the wires A, B and M;

3 – The other end of the data network cable must be connected to the 1st distribution box;

4 – Connect the controller to this distribution box;

5 – Proceed connecting the other distribution box / controllers until all them are interconnected;

6 – Connect the power cable to the electric network. Check the electric network voltage before connecting the power cable.

7 – Configure the instrument addresses.

Important

According to the NBR 5410 standard:

1 – Protection against overvoltage must be installed in the power supply lines and in the serial communication output for each controller;

2 – The sensor cables and serial communication cables can be placed close to each other; however they cannot run in the same conduit where power supply cables and load activation cables are installed.

3 – Surge arrester (like RC filters) must be connected to the load (in parallel) for enhancing relays life.

4 – Upon installing the instruments, change the value of "RS-485 Network Address" function so that there is no two instruments with the same address in the same installation. Otherwise, the communication with Sitrad will not work properly.

5 – Cabling work must be executed by a qualified technician.
